Hayward police involved in shooting

3,3,13 HAYWARD — Police were investigating an officer involved shooting Sunday morning, the third time Bay Area police opened fire on suspects this weekend. The shooting happened around 3:20 a.m. near the intersection Fletcher Lane and Watkins Street, said Hayward police. It wasn’t immediately clear if the suspect was dead. Boy dependent on blood transfusions for 6 years meets his donors

OAKLAND, Calif. — A six-year-old San Ramon boy was reunited in Oakland Friday with a small group of blood donors who helped keep the boy alive for six years. Dillon Low came into this world sick, diagnosed with Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a rare genetic disorder that causes low red blood cells. “He had increased heart rate,” said Carol Low, Dillon’s mother. “Within minutes they rushed him to the NICU and they immediately gave him a blood transfusion,” Dillon needed blood transfusions nearly every day for six years until he was able … Continued

SAN FRANCISCO — A suspect involved in a high-speed pursuit with Daly City and San Francisco police was shot and killed during a foot chase, authorities said. Dozens of anti-police protesters who had gathered at City Hall briefly took over Vallejo City Council Chambers on Tuesday night during a special council meeting, police said. PINOLE, Calif. — A suspect was arrested Friday after allegedly pointing a gun at a teller at a bank in Pinole, demanding money and then fleeing in a vehicle parked outside, police said Saturday. Oakland: Chaos near Fruitvale BART station after attempted drive-by shooting

OAKLAND — A drive-by shooter firing on a car near the Fruitvale BART station Thursday morning missed his target, but the car wound up crashing into two other vehicles and a taco truck outside a popular restaurant, police said.
