The Brooms Collective has been meeting Saturday mornings at 9 AM or 10 AM for a year now at a tiny park at 32nd and San Pablo in Oakland. To commemorate this auspicious anniversary folks will be rendezvousing there at 11 AM Saturday, Feb. 9th to sweep away late-capitalist decay and maybe have a little fress at noon, as well. In response to the May 1st vandalism of small businesses and automobiles in this largely working class neighborhood, we at the Brooms Collective are planning on gathering at the 16th Street Mission BART Station at 11:30 on Saturday morning to participate in a neighborhood clean-up and outreach action. Neighborhood Cleanup – 10:00 AM – 32nd & San Pablo Please come join us for our ongoing cleanup at St. Andrew’s Park in West Oakland (in collaboration with the San Pablo Corridor Coalition). We will have plenty of equipment and safety gear, and there will be free coffee, doughnuts, and maybe even a barbecue.
