When: Next Sunday at 2pm and every Sunday thereafter.
Where: Our rightful home, OGP.
Why: Now that all of the unconstitutional stay-away orders have expired we are not forced to pick between the safety of our comrades and being kicked out of our original home. OGP is more comfortable, accessible and visible. Let’s reclaim our home!
How: Those in attendance at the 3/10 GA decided unanimously to move the meetings to OGP.
What: Over the months the Occupy Oakland GA has evolved/devolved into a much less process-bound meeting. People come to organize, network, brainstorm, eat and laugh. It is a great opportunity to inform other activists about the work you’re doing and to make those magic connections that make things move forward. For the upcoming meeting on the 17th the following groups are planning on reporting:
- 350.org, stopping the KXL pipilene
- Strike Debt, the debt resistance movement
- Foreclosure Defense, doing successful work keeping people in their houses.
- Justice for Alan Blueford
- The Autonomous Santa Rita welcoming committee
- FTP
- 40th anniversary of the Wounded Knee uprising
All other group and event organizers are welcome to come and report. Bring food to share if you can. Long live Occupy Oakland!
Update: It turns out that we had bad information on the expiration of the stay-aways and several people still have them. We will go ahead with the move to OGP this week and we will discuss whether we should move back.
All kinds of good. Among other things, now that the days are getting longer we’ll be sheltered from the sun by corporate capital (the tall buildings). -Love and other four legged words from Guanajuato, MX.
WE DON/T THINK WE SHOULD MOVE THE GA UNTIL ALL STAY AWAY ORDERS HAVE BEEN DISMISSED WE SHOULD GO BACK TO 19TH AND TELEGRAPH THIS WEEK.
