To the citizens of the world. We are Anonymous. Joseph Kony, a man from Uganda, has been kidnapping children for over 20 years. Forcing them to join his army of terror. The subject remains obscure, so this message is in a more broader scope; a war cry against Human and Child Trafficking. We will update this information as more detailed, and reliable facts are brought forth. We urge all citizens of the United States, and the world to open their eyes. To come together in a time of fierce … Continued

Paranoia Strikes Deep
What a field-day for the heat A thousand people in the street Singing songs and carrying signs Mostly say, hooray for our side Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you’re always afraid You step out of line, the man come and take you away I’ve been thinking for some time that Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth should be the official Occupy Oakland anthem. Despite being written by the appalling Stephen ‘Love the One You’re With’ Stills, it remains the most evocative song of … Continued
Who is 1 Percent
Who is the “1 Percent”? Commentary/Politics – Editorials ShareThis Written by Kathleen McCarthy Wednesday, 29 February 2012 06:21 The new meme cheerfully propagated by the mainstream media (MSM) is the 1-percent-versus-the-99-percent conflict, which fits perfectly into its strategy for maintaining strict political divisions of Left versus Right. This bipartisan strategy is absolutely critical for advancing the agenda of the “1 percent,” which, simply stated, is to own and/or control the world’s natural and economic resources, including land and mineral rights, water sources, food and energy production, transportation, money supply, … Continued

Hey, Good Couple Weeks Occupy Oakland
I think I spend too much time on here or facebook kind of self-critiquing and debating and all that, I don’t know about all of you…. how about we just kind of give ourselves a hand for a good couple weeks? 5 banks shut down (that I know of) and a private country club golf course. We had a Funeral for Capitalism, the FTP march for Oscar Grant to the Fruitvale, a caravan or two went up to help Occupy Sacramento counter-protest white supremacists, and we helped gather hundreds of … Continued

Finest Worksong. Interview #2 with Aaron Lehmer, Bay Localize by Willi Paul, PlanetShifter.com Magazine http://planetshifter.com/node/1995 excerpt – “I think people fear an uncertain future, and wonder about their place in it. Young people know that more than anyone, having experienced high levels of unemployment and insecurity after graduating high school and college in recent years. Change is always scary on some level. But it’s also inevitable. By opening ourselves up to the changes ahead, and aligning our spirits, talents, and visions with a more localized future, we can literally … Continued
Little Manual for a democratic revolution (strategic tool)
INTRODUCTION We all agree that our socio-economic systems are wrong. They are not appropriate, you can see all around us injustices growing. First phase: “to become indignant”. But we do not all agree on the interpretation and remedies to problems. Some people think that things may get better by existing institutions including the elections (the reformists – those people usually do not invest in social movements), others are convinced that the political system itself must be questioned and that it can be only changed from the outside – they … Continued
Outside Agitators
Every time there’s a protest in Oakland, there’s a whole lot of blather in the corporate press about those evil and mysterious ‘outside agitators’ who come to cause trouble and use our city as their ‘playground’. The storyline was alive and well during the Oscar Grant demonstrations of 2009 (otherwise known as The Defenestration of Foot Locker) and is once again lurking openly within mainstream reporting about Occupy Oakland actions. After J28, we were solemnly informed that ‘only’ 35% of those arrested were Oakland residents. Setting aside the fact … Continued
Who’s really violent? Tips for controlling the narrative.

A recent article by George Lakey discusses how the narrative about violence is used to discredit insurrection movements and includes many examples. What should we do about this attempt by the government and the media to maintain the status quo? This is essential reading for anyone who is offended and exhausted by the debate about “violence” within Occupy, and who had a reaction to the recent Chris Hedges article about the Black Bloc and Occupy. http://wagingnonviolence.org/2012/02/whos-really-violent-tips-for-controlling-the-narrative 21545
RCP? Really?
The last couple of GA’s I have been to there has been an increase in RCP visibility. I find this disturbing for a couple of reasons. Yes I will give you a bulleted list because bullets are “revolutionary”. R.C.P.-Revolutionary Communist Party, USA. I am not sure why they insist on having the word “revolutionary” in their acronym. I suppose there must have been a non-revolutionary Communist Party at one point that was only concerned with having bake sales and organizing a bowling league. Maoist-The RCP is stated to be a Maoist organization. If … Continued
