You also now have to use a B of A ATM card to access any of your money for CA state disability which only lasts one year. They used to just send checks you could deposit anywhere. My state disability ran out in April and now I can only get funds out of my parents’ (retired teachers) saving that they absolutely will and currently do depend on as I am currently too disabled to work, but I have so many medical, health insurance, and physical therapy bills that at 35 … Continued

A proposal re: the actions of Nov. 2
Hi all, It seems that many of us here are against the destruction and vandalism that happened during the Nov. 2 general strike. Below is a proposal I’m sending to the General Assembly. Let me know if you support it, the proposal will be read at GA either Sunday or Monday. The proposal is something we SHOULD do. The suggestion is something we CAN do, it’s optional and specifics can be discussed at a later time. Proposal for the Occupy Oakland General Assembly November 4, 2011 Between the people of … Continued

State of California merger with Bank of America…
I am concerned about the merger between the State of California and Bank of America via UI benefits. The way I understand it, as the “administrator” of UI benefits BofA is now the State Depository of our SSI income taxes. This means they are collecting interest on us now. I am having trouble finding out much information about how this got implemented without consent. I have boycotted BofA for many years. Now I am being forced to do business with them and so are all of you who work, or … Continued
Boycott all Chamber of Commerse Members in Oakland/Berkeley
Hi, I am Dan McMullan and for many years now I have been using sleep-outs and Tent Cities to bring about change. The last one being ArnieVille last summer in Berkeley that has been called the longest continuous protest by a disabled group in U.S. history. The one thing that has been a constant through-out is the enmity of the Chamber of Commerse. Behind every beating, ticket, jailing and broken tents, awnings and bones is the Chamber of Commerse demanding police state action against the very people that they want … Continued
Thanks for nothing!
Yesterday my house in Oakland was broken into, the back door smashed off its hinges…. 29 hours later the police still haven’t been able to send a patrol out to write up a report. All the officers are tied up nurse maiding you lot, so thanks for making a stressful time even worse… you absolute do not in any shape or form have my support. Go home and let the tax payers have their city and its resources back, my hard earned dollars are paying for cleaning up your mess … Continued
Dear Occupy Movement;
Instead of breaking laws may I suggest in addition to peaceful protests, spreading the word for anyone willing to simply empty or close their bank accounts in protest? There is no law against withdrawing your own money, and you’ll target the very people you’re angry at. They call it a “bank run” and its something banks fear more than anything. They fear this because when a loan is given out, a bank doesn’t actually give you their own money for the loan. They give you the money in their vaults … Continued
Unedited usually never shared thoughts about being disabled and looking able and having no money
I am very disappointed that I never hear anything on the news or in the OWS movement protests about how screwed up our whole entire country and world is when it comes to the fact that sudden disabilities or long term ones can make someone like me with a BA from Berkeley and a JD from Davis physically unable to work because of an SUV rear ending me at 55 mph. Without my parents (retired teachers) I would possibly currently be homeless and paralyzed as no surgeon would have removed … Continued

Song Nite Occupies Occupy Oakland
Song Nite, an 8.5-year-old hootenanny ritual centered in Oakland, will be hosting a ‘song circle’ (read: hootenanny) in Oscar Grant Plaza this coming Saturday late afternoon (5pm) at the rotunda. We are a group of over 150 friends and family members that have met about once a month to share food, drink, company, and the dulcet tones of our communal howl (OK, singing). We’re all tremendously excited about Occupy Oakland, and many of us have already taken part, whether as individuals or parts of other groups. But we want to … Continued
