The Oakland Greens Present: FREE Dinner & a Movie Community Discussion Series, April 2025 — Sunday, April 27: dinner begins at 6:30 PM; movie starts at 7 PM. Doors closed at 7:30 PM.
The Stanford prison experiment (SPE) was a controversial psychological experiment performed during August 1971. It was designed to be a two-week simulation of a prison environment that examined the effects of situational variables on participants’ reactions and behaviors.
However, it did not even survive six days. Stanford University psychology professor Philip Zimbardo ended the experiment early after realizing the guards’ abuse of the prisoners had gone too far.
The Oakland Greens Free Dinner & a Movie Discussion Series runs from January through October, with events held on the last Sunday of each month. Attend in person—tickets and information are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/ o/the-oakland-greens- 30818034656 or facebook.com/ oaklandgreens. Walk-ins are always welcome!
