On Friday, May 1, the Federal Bureau of Prisons published an Environmental Assessment Report confirming what FCI Dublin survivors have been saying for years: the facility is unsafe and uninhabitable. Instead of recommending the facility be demolished, this report moves FCI Dublin one step closer to its possible reopening as an ICE detention center.
ICE is aggressively seeking to expand detention capacity across California, and last month opened a detention center in a former prison in the Central Valley. If ICE takes over FCI Dublin, it would become the first and only ICE detention center in Northern California, dramatically escalating detention and deportation operations across the entire Bay Area.
We cannot allow a prison notorious for abuse and harm to be repurposed as a concentration camp.
The public has until June 1 to submit comments opposing this proposal, and we need hundreds of people to act NOW.

FCI Dublin survivors fought for years to expose the violence and abuse inside those walls. We cannot allow the federal government to reopen this site as a new detention center for immigrants and families.
No ICE detention in Dublin. Not in the Bay Area. Not anywhere.
