Demand that Barbara Lee order ICE to lift the immigration ban on Pancho! Francisco “Pancho” Ramos-Stierle was arrested while meditating at the Oscar Grant Plaza during the second early morning raid on the Occupy Oakland encampment on November 14th. He is currently being held by the Oakland Police Department on $10,000 bail and they plan to turn him over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for immediate deportation. Friday November 11 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM 14th & BROADWAY, OSCAR GRANT PLAZA, Amphitheater As part of Veterans Day, veterans will be leading a march against police brutality on November 11th, 2011 in Oakland. Man Killed at 14th and Broadway

A man was shot and killed outside of Tully’s just before 5pm this evening. Occupy Oakland medics were the first on the scene to try and assist the victim. Others formed a circle around the victim to prevent gawkers and media people from interfering with emergency procedures. Oakland police now have the area marked off with yellow tape. Our condolences and greatest sympathies go out to the man’s family and friends. This website was created in the fall of 2011. Most of it is now moribund, but the Occupy Oakland Calendar, which lists activist events in the East Bay (and occasionally elsewhere) is still maintained, the Search facility works to find earlier posts and keep OO’s history alive, and articles are occasionally still posted to the front page.

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly met in-person weekly (with a rare skip) since October 10th, 2011 up until the pandemic, at which point we went to bi-weekly Zoom meetings. We do checkins, go over the activist events of the past meeting interval, and have general discussions on politics and revolution.

For many years, until the pandemic, we put on a Feed the People event monthly at Oscar Grant Plaza, where all were welcome to come and partake of a freshly cooked, savory meal, before our GA.
