SF Police: “We Object!” -To Policy Recommendations That Suggest They Stop Executing People At Will.

San Francisco has a police department whose members get to send racist texts without any reprecussions and execute people firing squad style without a care – and want to keep it that way.

mario-woods-wallNo matter that the firing squad execution of Mario Woods and the publishing of some truly disgusting racist remarks – that you’d think would only be overheard at a Trump rally – have outraged much of San Francisco. The police are showing no love towards the idea that there is an alternative to “shoot first, shoot often.”

San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr… is now facing criticism from his own rank and file for what they see as appeasement of department critics.

At issue: a proposed policy change being drafted by Suhr and the Police Commission that emphasizes “de-escalation” of force when officers confront someone wielding a gun or knife. Of particular concern to the cops are instructions that officers “seek cover” and “engage in thoughtful communication” before doing anything else, unless there is an imminent threat.

That’s right. They object to being told that they cannot be judge, jury and executioner. They demand the continued right to blow anyone away regardless of the level of threat or the prospects of being able to “talk down” someone into surrendering. They want to be able to fire 59 bullets a someone rather than have a plan.(1)

They want more videos showing execution by firing squad splayed across the Internet (actually, they probably don’t want any videos at all, as in the good old days, but that ship has sailed)

They make it ever so obvious that they don’t protect and serve anyone but themselves…

The idea [of the recommendations] is to create enough “time and space” so police won’t need to open fire.

I’m not happy with that or other provisions in the draft, because it could put our officers in harm’s way and at the same time jeopardize the safety of the community we serve,” said Martin Halloran, president of the Police Officers Association.

Let’s get one thing straight: we don’t care if you’re happy or not; we care that you stop killing people.
