The Debt Resisters Operations Manual (DROM) was published on September, 2012 by Strike Debt New York City, an offshoot of Occupy Wall Street.
In it you can find
specific tactics for understanding and fighting against the debt system… detailed strategies and resources for dealing with credit card, medical, student, housing and municipal debt, tactics for navigating the pitfalls of personal bankruptcy, and information to help protect yourself from predatory lenders.
A year and a half later, Strike Debt New York is about to release the new, expanded, super, how-to-crush-your-debt second edition of the DROM, and Strike Debt Bay Area is having a Release Party.
No, the party isn’t going to let you release your debt and crush people like the Big Banks did, but you can take your aggressions out on a pinata full of debt, party hard and contemplate the big questions, like
CNN just said the world is forty trillion dollars in debt. Who the fuck does the world owe? Jupiter?
Check out the calendar event for more info or just show up on Sunday, March 23rd at 3:30 PM at the Alan Blueford Center for Justice at 2434 Telegraph. There will be music, food, short talks by two famous activists and political philosophers – George Caffentzis (a founder of the Midnight Notes Collective) and Silvia Federici – and the opportunity to purchase the 2nd edition DROM at a sliding scale.
Not to mention the rock.
