On Saturday, April 13th at Arroyo Park in Oakland the Justice 4 Alan Blueford Coalition held a BBQ and rally in support of the Blueford family and to protest the continued employment and lack of prosecution of Miguel Masso for the murder of Alan Blueford by Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley. At least two hundred and fifty people were fed from 1:00 PM until the event ended at 5:00 PM.
Along with Adam and Jeralyn, Alan Blueford’s parents, family members of those killed by police violence who spoke to the assembled crowd were Oscar Grant’s mother, Wanda Johnson, Oscar Grant’s uncle, “Uncle Bobby”, Gary King’s mother, Cathy King, Gary King’s sister, Noel, and Kenneth Harding’s uncle.
The National Lawyer’s Guild held a “Know Your Rights” training and much BBQ chicken and roast turkey were consumed.
