[Passed at 1/4 GA] Emergency proposal to accept assistance in finding a building or commercial space to rent for an Occupy Oakland center space, or to utilize how ever Occupy Oakland sees fit

Categories: GA Proposals, GA Resolutions

My New Year’s resolution consists of providing a permanent space for the Occupy movement to establish a strong footing for the year 2012 and beyond.

Therefore, I wish to propose the following:

1. Lease a real estate property to sponsor Occupiers of Oakland in setting up an Occupy Center in a convenient part of the city.
2. Commit my time and resources so that Occupiers will no longer have to be subjected to eviction threats anymore.
3. Utilize the spirit of unity to implement the Bee-Line System geared to inspire small businesses in protecting workers’ interests and prevent market domination by large competitors.
4. Accommodate Occupiers’ needs in line with the Occupy movement’s goals and objectives.
5. Provide a multi-use large building with plenty of parking so we can assist those who are struggling financially with more opportunities to generate revenues.
6. Increase financial resources for Occupiers without relying solely on contributions.
7. Expand more awareness through direct interaction with communities and small businesses.

To get the ball rolling, others may have to do the pushing. Hence, many people may need just a little encouragement or a nudge on our part in order to become more involved.

Nevertheless, the above-mentioned resolutions are only some of the countless possibilities that can be adopted to provide the 99% with an alternative solution to minimize the ripple effect of the economic crisis.

Looking forward to assist in every way I can. For any questions, you may contact me at (479) 273-9991.
