Please join us at 1:00 PM at Oscar Grant Plaza, 14th & Broadway (Frank Ogawa Plaza) for the March to UC Berkeley where we will join forces with Bay Area families, workers, people of faith, students, artists, leaders, and community supporters for what is expected to be the biggest rally ever in the East Bay for $15/hr and a union.

The call has gone out nationwide: rallies, walkouts, and marches will be happening all across the US. The measly wage increases recently announced by McDonalds (for less than 10% of their workers), Walmart, Target and others aren’t fooling anyone. No one can survive on $8.25, $9.25 or $10.25. Everyone who works deserves a livable wage – one that can put food on the table, pay the rent, afford health care and yes, even go to a movie occasionally – without constant, debilitating anxiety and stress. $15/hr is a bare minimum in a place like the Bay Area.

Emeryville just agreed to raise their minimum wage to more than $14/hr for workers employed by big businesses, and $12.25 otherwise, beginning July 1, ultimately reaching $15/hr for everyone. It’s spreading: the Fight for $15 indeed can be won all across the US!

So come out, come out, enjoy a perfect day and march with us. Rides will likely be available for those who cannot walk the entire distance.
