Occupy Oakland Protests and Violence

I have supported this movement from the beginning, but I do not support violence and it detracts from the message that we are trying to get out there.  It costs more money for the communities we live in and it is destructive and foolish.  PLEASE keep the protests peaceful or it will ruin everything this is about and everyone will stop listening. 18236

Suggestion for Dealing With the Police

One of the problems with many police forces today is the fact that many of the officers live outside the areas where they work. This is probably the case with a good many of the Oakland officers. If they had a vested interest in the community I suspect their attitudes would be less confrontational in many instances. The solution to this as I see it is to introduce resolutions before the City Council asking them to require all officers working on the force to reside within the city of Oakland(most … Continued

A National Constitutional Convention to Reign in the Elites/Banksters

Article V of the Constitution gives the states the power to reign in the elites/banksters. Similarly, state constitutions also have state constitutional provisions for when state legislatures get out of hand. Occupy my balls

That would be as big of a waste of time as the current “Occupy”movement. It seems the 1% of your 99% is ruining the message for everybody.. it’s sad,  misguided and unfortunate as this started out with such promise. The city of Oakland is not the enemy. The city of Oakland is not the Military Industrial complex, nor is it the corrupt 18200

Occupy Oakland and State Repression

Re-posted from Counterpunch January 31, 2012 by MIKE KING A crowd of several hundred quickly swelled to a couple thousand, as Occupy Oakland attempted to occupy the vacant Kaiser Convention Center.  The goal was to use it as an indoor base for Occupy Oakland – a place to have General Assemblies and meetings, share food and get shelter for the winter.  This was in keeping with what Occupy Oakland has always done, a goal that is simple, though not simple enough for the mainstream media to understand and honestly report.  … Continued
