DHS – protecting the U.S. Gov’t. from it’s citizens — we don’t have to take this anymore

Good morning Oakland,

I’ve been watching events in Oakland for the past several weeks and am becoming more incensed at the police/DHS brutality by the day.

So, I took ACTION this morning by creating the following statement on Congree.org’s SoapBox (available to all citizens, presumably read by someone in D. C.), as well as writing my Senators and Representative about the Police State that is passing for America these days. If you are in agreement with this statement of solidarity among U.S. Citizens in demanding their constitutionally-protected rights amid terrorism by the local police/DHS, please spread this far and wide via email, facebook, press interviews, and anything else you may dream up. I am a 63-year old sedionist, created from whole cloth by the Patriot Act and the Bush and Obama administrations tryanny over U. S. citizens, and I’m NOT going to take it anymore!

This website was created in the fall of 2011. Most of it is now moribund, but the Occupy Oakland Calendar, which lists activist events in the East Bay (and occasionally elsewhere) is still maintained, the Search facility works to find earlier posts and keep OO’s history alive, and articles are occasionally still posted to the front page.

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly met in-person weekly (with a rare skip) since October 10th, 2011 up until the pandemic, at which point we went to bi-weekly Zoom meetings. We do checkins, go over the activist events of the past meeting interval, and have general discussions on politics and revolution.

For many years, until the pandemic, we put on a Feed the People event monthly at Oscar Grant Plaza, where all were welcome to come and partake of a freshly cooked, savory meal, before our GA.
