“Record Occupy Oakland” will encourage all comers to write their personal experience and their personal observations. We’ll read and review essays, poems, stories, memoirs, plays, speeches, and help make them vivid and powerful. And we will be a connecting house to places where a record can be published. We can also entertain the idea of building a SLAM team. Bring paper and pens that work, or laptops, to the workshop.

Hi Kristina.
Thanks for your interest! My name is Jean. I’m writing this for Clive, the workshop facilitator.
Three of us planted ourselves at the Occupy site at 2 pm on Friday, Dec. 2, and hung out for about an hour. Someone with Occupy told us that 3 of their people would have been interested but were tied up in a crucial meeting. We also learned that Friday is generally not a good day to plan yet another activity. So the day and time has been switched to Wednesday, 1 to 3 pm.
We brought a couple of fold-up camping stools last time and set them up opposite one of the stone benches. Clive generally wears a suit jacket and some kind of hat. He’s dark haired with bushy eyebrows. He and we hope to see you Wednesday.
Jean
Is the writing workshop happening? I arrived a bit late today but there was no sign that anyone had met. I would very much welcome writing with someone about my Occupy experiences so if there is anyone who is interested please let me know. Thanks. Kristina
