Rally at San Francisco DA’s office to Drop the Charges
Jan 17 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

San Franciscans are saying LOUD AND CLEAR that we stand for and with a #FREEPALESTINE. It’s time for DA Jenkins to end her frivolous prosecution of the #BayBridge78 NOW. In December, the #BayBridge78 appeared in court to face the 390 criminal charges that DA Jenkins is pursuing against them for protesting genocide. Nearly a month later, these bizarre and indefensible charges for civil disobedience have STILL not been dropped! The genocide in Gaza continues while DA Jenkins squanders our public funds on right wing political posturing.

Can you amplify the call to drop the charges and demand a ceasefire now?

On January 26, 2024, the federal court will hear a lawsuit filed by Palestinian plaintiffs charging President Biden, Secretary of State Blinken, and Secretary of Defense Austin with complicity in Israel’s genocide. Stop Mountain Valley Pipeline, Funded by Wells Fargo @ Wells Fargo HQ
Jan 29 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Join actions all over the country targeting banks that fund the Mountain Valley Pipeline. We have one of the top funders right here in the Bay Area: Wells Fargo, headquartered in San Francisco, has poured $86.7 million into this destructive project.

For starters, the pipeline is planned to carry fracked gas across Appalachia, from extraction fields of northern West Virginia, blasting through the Blue Ridge mountains and Virginia before reaching its end in North Carolina.

Construction on the MVP mainline has already severely harmed clean water sources across Appalachia. Its route over steep slopes increases the risk of water damage and explosions.

And the climate impact: It’s been estimated that the full life cycle greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (excluding construction emissions) generated by the MVP mainline alone would be almost 90 million metric tons annually. This is equivalent to the emissions from 23 average U.S. coal plants or over 19 million passenger vehicles driven every year

Chevron Out of Palestine @ Chevron Richmond Refinery, Gate 14
Feb 3 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
RSVP at https://bit.ly/ChevronOutOfPalestine

For the past three months, the Israeli Occupation Forces have indiscriminately bombed and killed over 30,000 Palestinians living in Gaza, half of them children. This is a genocide and an attempted land-grab.

Israel’s apartheid regime depends on Chevron’s gas reserves, which provide 70% of Israel’s electricity and powers the ongoing massacres of Palestinians. Both Israel and Chevron are profiting from this genocide: Chevron operates two of the largest offshore natural gas fields off of the coast of Palestine.

The extraction of these resources, enabled by the apartheid regime and settler colonialism, is part of the 75 year history of occupation. It is clear that natural gas is a part of this violent colonial tradition.

Now, Bay Area residents and environmental justice organizers are taking action here at home in Contra Costa to condemn the Chevron refinery’s investments in occupied Palestine and role in fueling this genocide.

While Chevron and Israel are getting rich by extracting gas off the coast of Gaza, Palestinians have run out of fuel. They are forced to burn trash, endure harsh winter conditions, and have no way of cooking food. All 2.2 million Gazans are facing acute food insecurity, and over half a million are starving as a result. This is an urgent human rights and environmental justice crisis, and as we call for a permanent ceasefire, we are also holding Chevron accountable for fueling Israel’s apartheid regime.

We Demand

Chevron shutdown Tamar and Leviathan gas fields now!
Chevron to divest from Israel and stop its complicity in apartheid

Boycott and divest from Chevron until there is a permanent end to the occupation

Hands Off Rafah Emergency Action! – SF @ Federal Bldg
Feb 13 @ 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

BAY AREA: EMERGENCY ACTION TUESDAY: Last night, Israeli military’s genocidal assault targeted Rafah, the city that holds more than 1.4 million Palestinians, the majority of whom were displaced from elsewhere in Gaza. Over 70 martyrs and over 230 injured have already been reported in the US-funded Israeli strikes targeting homes, and mosques where many were sheltering. Israel is threatening a ground invasion in Rafah. We call on our community to take the streets to defend Rafah, Gaza, and all of Palestine. We assert that Rafah is a red line, and must mobilize to demand an end to this genocidal assault. HANDS OFF RAFAH NOW!

Insure our Future
Feb 29 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

The Bay Area climate community is planning a local action in coordination with the “Insure our Future” Global Week of Action. Together we will hold the insurance industry accountable for its role in the climate crisis. Without insurance, most new fossil fuel projects cannot go ahead and existing ones must close. This makes insurance the Achilles heel of the fossil fuel industry.

On March 2, millions across the world will march for Gaza! Join us in San Francisco as we join the call to hit the streets!

Gaza is facing famine, its hospitals are besieged, threats of ground invasion in Rafah loom near, and Israel continues its onslaught on the over 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The mass movement for Palestine has led to the isolation of the US and Israel on the world stage. With growing internal divisions and heightened political pressure on Israel and the United States, it’s time to push even harder.

Our mobilizations in this moment can be more decisive than ever, and we must show our full strength now to ensure a lasting ceasefire and an end to the siege on Gaza.

All out for Rafah! All out for Gaza! Stop the genocide!

sm_ppnam-march315-fbc.jpg

Join our march against UC Berkeley’s proposed development of People’s Park, a cornerstone of Berkeley’s countercultural legacy and values. People’s Park stands as a beacon of community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and social justice.

The march is a declaration against the militarization of our shared spaces, supporting peace and the rematriation of Ohlone land. Rally: US Supreme Court Hands Off the Abortion Pill! @ Federal Bldg
Mar 24 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
The Supreme Court announced it will begin hearing oral arguments on the abortion pill (mifepristone) on March 26th. This is why we demonstrate on the previous Sunday MARCH 24!

This will be the Court’s first serious return to the issue of abortion since overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. If successful, this case can impact healthcare access for millions of women across the US —INCLUDING IN STATES WHERE ABORTION IS LEGAL.

People with disabilities and people of color are disproportionally underserved with reproductive care. Speakers will address this as well as the legal and political problem of the Supreme Court having agreed to hear this case. The abortion pill mifepristone has been proven effective and FDA approved for almost 25 years. It is safer than either viagra or tylenol.

Join us for a rousing rally that will include speakers, open mic and music to get us revved up by the Raging Grannies with Brass Liberation Orchestra (together again!)

Sponsored by a coalition of organizations and spearheaded by National Mobilization for Reproductive Justice San Francisco Chapter.

If your group would like to table at and/or endorse this action please email us. There is power in numbers. Join us everyone!

Justice for Ryan Gainer: Disability Justice Demonstration and Vigil @ Lake Merritt Amphitheater
Mar 24 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Ryan Gainer was a 15-year-old child with autism who was senselessly murdered by San Bernardino Sheriffs after his family called 911.

Murdering a 15-year-old Black boy experiencing a crisis is enraging and another example why the carceral system must be dismantled. Black people with disabilities face compounded risks when interacting with police.

Black neurodivergent children who are having an episode deserve to live. Black children deserve to live. PERIOD. We shouldn’t have to say anymore names. No one should have to bury their child. Ryan Gainer should still be here.

Join the Anti Police-Terror Project, Disability Justice Culture Club, Disability Justice League Bay Area, and the Center for Independent Living this Sunday

Accessibility: The amphitheater is a wheelchair accessible space, we will have ASL available and will be livestreaming the event. Bathrooms are available at the public library across the street which will be open till 5:30pm. Mask up!

We will have a brief program of speakers who will connect the dots between our interconnected struggles, there will be space for young people and healers, and we will close with a short de-escalation training and seed planting.

Abolition is a disability justice issue. The solutions we need require centering the needs, ideas and testimonies of neurodivergent and/or disabled people. Abolition cannot wait. Justice for Ryan Gainer!

In service and solidarity,
APTP

Sweep The Court @ San Francisco Federal Building
Apr 22 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

In January 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear the appeal of Johnson v. Grants Pass, a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that barred municipalities across the western United States from punishing their unhoused residents for sleeping outside, even when there are no available shelter options. With its hard-right conservative majority, SCOTUS will likely overturn Grants Pass, creating a devastating ripple effect for homeless people across the country. Democratic leaders across local and state governments have submitted amicus briefs, or “Friends of the Court” briefs, in support of the overturning of Grants Pass– a deliberate attempt to use the hyper conservative court to enact violence on their poorest constituents.

On April 22nd, 2024, cities across the country will mobilize to show their support for the rights of unhoused people, demanding that the Supreme Court recognize sweeps without the offer of adequate shelter constitute cruel and unusual punishment, a violation of the Eighth Amendment. In San Francisco, where the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is located and the fight for the human rights of homeless people is most storied, join us in mobilizing from the Federal Building, to the State Building, and then ending at City Hall on April 22nd.
STOP THE SWEEPS!
