Nationwide Occupy Movement

I have been seeing on FaceBook that Occupy Wally Street is advertising that all the original Occupy movements will be having rally. But haven’t seen anything on Occupy Oakland website. Is Occupy Oakland not involved? I did see that there was something in Walnut Creek, but I live in Oakland, and would rather attend a rally here. 55345

Celebrate our Heros

Throughout history there have been heroes, I just watched one of my favorite movies “Cinderella Man” that is the story about James Braddick, a guy from New Jersey that became ‘hope’ for the poor people during the depression.  Then another true story “Newies” that shows young kids as the heroes in New York in 1890’s, that started a union and eventually lead to the Child Labor Laws. I get inspired when I watch these stories, true stories of everyday heroes would be, to me, more inspiring than the “V for … Continued

Credit Union to replace US Bank

Peoples Credit Union has expanded and is now Community Trust Credit Union.  I have been a member for awhile, and enjoy the benefits of high interest rate on savings and checking plus online bill pay and checks issued and mailed for you.  Please approach this credit union to occupy the vacated space on campus by US Bank…..Wanda 25437

Credit Union for UC

I recently started accounts at People’s Credit Union, which is now merged with Community Trust. A good credit union to approach about opening up another branch. Great Services! The only Oakland branch is 1432 7th St. and their phone number is (510) 267-0450. 23958

Sacramento Conflict

I am in support of what the Occupy Oakland movement is about, but when the movement becomes violent against another activist group, regardless of their beliefs, that is not acceptable.  Occupy Oakland is about tolerance, and our constitutional right to assemble.  There are enough issues to fight against, like homelessness, the break-up of a a homeless camp in San Jose, where are these people  suppose to go?  The 1% is foreclosing on families homes, making people homeless, then they want to sweep them under the rug, or somehow make them … Continued

Music

During the marches, I would like to hear some enlightening songs like: Paul McCarthy’s ‘Freedom’ ‘he World Will Know That We Were Here’ is another good one Other political, and encouraging songs to keep the crowd motivated along with the chants. Let’s express our rights and freedoms via music too.   9473

Black Friday

I was sorry to hear about the success of Black Friday, it feels like a 1% victory.  I stayed home, and don’t plan on buying anything this holiday season because, as usual, I can’t afford it. I hate those words, that year after year I would have to tell my children that we could not afford what they wanted for Christmas and their birthdays, because we just could not afford it, and could not repeatedly put our family in debt to get those special gifts. But you know that the … Continued
