Are Oakland Police “brutal?”
Since the day when Scott Olsen was wounded, I have observed that the police are much more calm, restrained, and organized. I cannot say the same for the protesters. They seem to be flailing around with the simplest, unachievable plans (e.g., “Move-In Day”) and are certainly making the police look good! Now, ask that question about police in Syria or China, and I might say “yes.” 17122

Once again, OO website is off the mark
Police repression? Brutality? Wha???? We’ve been having peaceful meetings and at one, the police came over and asked us to kindly take down a tent. No arrests, no ridiculousness. Whoever thinks the police are the bad guys in our society is just plain WRONG. I have seen how you harass the police on the livestreams, and I have to say, you are NOT acting on behalf of the majority of OWS’ers. You are wasting your energy and harming our movement. Please, go away. 15448
Port Shutdown People Cost OWS $30,000
Next time, before you shut down a port, think about ALL of the ramifications, such as: http://www.nycga.net/2011/12/14/proposal-for-saturday-1217-general-assembly-anne-rettenberg/ 11432
Why do the unions think that striking is what OWS is about?
OWS began in late August, 2011. Occupying Liberty Plaza in NYC was not a union move. Since then, OWS have been about transparency, horizontalism, and non-violence. Where did striking come in to play? Sorry to say, I believe this movement has been co-opted by people who are acting like the bully 1%. Union strikes are exclusive, harmful to many in the 99%, and dangerous. By the way, I am in a union, and I do not publish this lightly. 8609
