Do you guys know about these people? They literally represent a “5th column” movement. I think it would be interesting to print out some of their stuff and distribute it to the police that we see at OGP and the protests. check out their site http://oathkeepers.org they essentially advocate that US military and peace officers should uphold the constitution even if it means being insubordinate. The DA is filing charges against Occupiers in some of the cases where charges weren’t filed after arrest – in particular, the Dec. 30 raid. The result is that people are being picked up on warrants, without even knowing charges have been filed. If you’ve been arrested but charges weren’t originally filed – CALL the District Attorney immediately (510 268 7500) to find out if any charges have been filed and if a warrant has been issued. This website was created in the fall of 2011. Most of it is now moribund, but the Occupy Oakland Calendar, which lists activist events in the East Bay (and occasionally elsewhere) is still maintained, the Search facility works to find earlier posts and keep OO’s history alive, and articles are occasionally still posted to the front page.

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly met in-person weekly (with a rare skip) since October 10th, 2011 up until the pandemic, at which point we went to bi-weekly Zoom meetings. We do checkins, go over the activist events of the past meeting interval, and have general discussions on politics and revolution.

For many years, until the pandemic, we put on a Feed the People event monthly at Oscar Grant Plaza, where all were welcome to come and partake of a freshly cooked, savory meal, before our GA.
