STATEMENT TO ALL MEDIA COVERING OCCUPY OAKLAND   We agree with Occupy Wall Street that corporations “purposefully keep people misinformed and fearful through their control of the media.”   The mainstream media’s inextricable ties to corporate interests drive them to lie to protect profits. For the last week, Oakland residents have reclaimed Frank Ogawa Plaza in front of City Hall as a free space where we can organize to fight against the problems that affect us: economic exploitation, racism, school closures, gang injunctions, police brutality, gentrification.
