Supporters of the Gill Tract Farm are mobilizing on July 9th at 7 PM at the corner of San Pablo and Marin, then marching to the City Council meeting.
This week is critical for the future of the Gill Tract Farm. Although the Albany City Council and UC have stated in city resolutions and open letters that they are committed to community collaboration around the future of the farm, they are moving forward with the original proposal to develop a housing and shopping center on the south side of the Gill Tract Farm.
This Monday, July 9th, an “emergency” meeting of the Albany City Council will likely approve the UCB development proposal. The 9th may be the last chance for the public to defend the Gill Tract from UC Berkeley Capital Projects.
