Happiness — For occupiers here and now

Categories: Open Mic

If we were to create a perfect race of humans, we would need to add two new qualities:

(1) A full and perfect understanding of darkness. For mental darkness is an illusion of good hiding misery, a liar’s pretense of good hiding an intent to be enriched upon our misery, a mixture of good and misery so confusing that not until after the fact can one tell good from misery.

(2) An understanding that this day of life is not an “unalienable right” due and owed to us by nature, but a free gift guaranteed to us by nature. For knowing that we do not deserve life, this brings a grateful conviction that we own nothing, that everything we have belongs to those who have less then us — and most guilty would we feel if ever we missed an opportunity to give all we can give.

For happiness is a society where giving actions produce a grateful response, where everyone experiences compassion, pity and charity in a way that heart warming gratitude is enjoyed by all.

So there, now that you know what this life is all about, go in peace.
