Occupy Alameda County Supervisor Meeting on Oak Street, Oakland

Categories: Announcements

The Alameda County SUpervisors hold a public meeting each month open to the public at 1221 Oak Streeet, Oakland on the 5th foor in the Board of Supervisors public hearing room. Sometime they hold more than one public meeting each month. At these meetings, and on camera that is broadcasted on a Public Community Channel with voice, each citizen that shows up to these meetings and signs up to speak at the open microphone by cmpleting a smal; slip of paper with your name (or somebody’s name) and subject you wish to inform the Baord about or have them consider and handing the slip to the Board Secretary at the desk in the Board hearing room just prior to the meeting starting, each member of the general public can have 3 minutes at the mic in front of the Board of Supervisors and the general public on TV. There is no limitations on subjects that can be heard. This same available 3 minutes is available to the gernal public at the Board of Zoning Adjustment hearings held a few times a month, these are also known as “BZA Hearings” One is held each month at 224 West Winton Ave. , Hayward, Ca and others at other locations. Large meeting room with signing up the same as the Alameda County Board of Supervisors meetings. The West County BZA hearing is at the Hayward Location. Perhaps these open mic opportunities would be a way of getting your individual points across to the “decission makers” and aired on public TV. I support change. A taxpayer that has no representation in the County of Alameda, only those with political clout can really be heard. Go to www.acgov.org. look up Board of Supervisors, look up the calendar that shows the meeting dates. Do the same for BZA meetings.. All these are under “GOVERNMENT”. Let me know when you are attending so I can join you and help getting speaker slips completed.
