Where will the General Assembly be today? What time will it take place. Yes, I see the calendar of events. But in light of recent developments with the camp on the move it seems uncertain. I want to be there tonight. I’m sure others want to be there tonight.
There is much to discuss. Should we find parks all over Oakland to occupy? Maybe the next parks should be in Montclair and Rockridge. Perhaps we should occupy Jean Quan’s yard and Ignatio de la Fuente’s yard. The camp could be a completely mobile only staying a night or two in each location.
Or, do we evolve into a daytime only protests at strategic locations around Oakland.
I’m sure others have other ideas. So when and where is the GA going to be tonight?
I think we should at least march to Piedmont park.
I would assume at the Plaza where we’ve always had GA, since the other camp was raided last night. I probably won’t make it tonight. I try to make most/all of the GAs, and I know we’re at a flash point, but it seems like there’s always an emergency. Every couple weeks I have to really unwind, so I’m going out dancing with some friends. But cheers, I hope you guys come together tonight and create some exciting resolutions for us to act on!
NObody wants camping in their neighborhood. Daily focused efforts are much more aligned with garnishing support from the 99 we purport to be. Going into neighborhoods to talk to people about taking their money out of big banks and moving their account into local credit unions is specific in its objective and supports the cause against Wall Street. I think its adolescent and futile to pick on local officials who are not the problem. Pick on those elected at the federal level if you want to effect change. Senatorial and Congressional leaders have no laws restricting insider trading and consequently they make 12% more in their investments than everyone else. They also allow special interests to buy them. They also allowed deregulation to set in. They also bailed out Wall Street. These are the peoples yards i would target. People who can actually and legally make the change. Why aren’t we targeting these people at their homes or Occupying Congress. I don’t get what all the local level stuff can do to effect any real change. City Council people don’t make federal laws.
