The media says you folks have no real agenda. Basically, you fell out of the sky into the various public places you occupy and stayed there because you have nothing better to do. Well, here is what I say to the media. You are the Talking Heads for Greed. You are part of the Problem, not the Solution. Until that changes, nothing you have to say means anything to me. Of course you cannot understand what is happening here and abroad. You only understand what what the masters and mistresses of Greed tell you and say only what they allow you to say. You have no understanding of democracy, of the people coming together in indignation for what you have done to my beautiful country and my beautiful planet since before I was born, after I was born, and intend to do after I die.
Let me tell you what I do hear, in the wee hours of the morning when my disability causes me so much pain I cannot sleep…a disability recognized by Social Security but denied by one of your corporatate masters. I hear screaming, the screaming of native peoples destroyed by the greed of Manifest Destiny, multi-national coporations, the state managed capitalism of Stalin and Communist China. I hear the screams of Africans torn from their peoples, their homelands, dumped by the millions overboard because they were too sick, or their labor lasted too long, or they were infants or children, or too damn uppity. I hear their scream as they drown and are torn apart by sharks. I hear the screams of slaves whipped to shreds and those of children ripped from the arms of their weeping parents. I hear the screams of the lynched, the tortured, the oppressed. This is what they say to me: ”Do not let my suffering by in vain. Stand for me! Stand for me!”
This fills me with an indignation so righteous that Greed cannot stand against it. You could imprison me, kill me, and my rage will live. This is why you fear us.
From that indignation for all those people, past, present, and future, I SAY THIS:
