Categories: Open Mic

This is the second time I have attempted to post this. I find it very sad that opinions that do not support violence are silenced. The last post was deleted by the sites censors. I do not know why, perhaps non-violence does not support their agenda of destroying the Occupy movement, and there is no room for free speech and open minds in Occupy Oakland.

Moderators, prove me wrong, do not delete this post, and in fact, move it from the open mic to the calendar. This is for a community event speaking out against violence. The people of Occupy Oakland deserve better than censorship. They deserve to know there are people in the movement who do stand up for non violence.

This is not my event, I am posting this on behalf of my community.

“Stand for Oakland”

Come take a “Stand for Oakland” with Residents, Merchants, and Downtown Businesses who have been the silent majority. On Monday, residents of Oakland will make a peaceful, visual statement opposing the vandalizing and terrorizing of our city- costing millions of dollars in security and lost revenue and causing a forced re-priortization of citizen calls, on an already strapped police force, due to downtown choas and violence.

Oakland is worth Standing up for. Look for the arm bands, and come get one: stand in solidarity with Oakland.

Join in a Citizens March around the Plaza.

Any idea who is organizing this Aaron? I’d hate to find out out it was some nefarious Chamber of Commerce deal.

I agree with Aaron. I am totally against trashing Oakland and I am curious as to how many of those that “demonstrated” last Saturday are actually FROM Oakland.. As far as I’m concerned, your actions hurt the credibility of the OWS movement, and severely damage Oakland’s national image. We don’t need that crap here.
