Last month, community pressure led to the cancellation of a contract to detain hundreds of immigrants for ICE in Contra Costa County, and community groups called for the release of all immigrants incarcerated there. Instead, in an arbitrary abuse of power, ICE transferred our community members from the West County Detention Facility to for-profit immigration jails in Denver, Colorado, and Tacoma, Washington.
