There will be a rally and a mass die-in to protest Vallejo’s police murders, especially that of Mario Romero, shot 40 times by Vallejo Police while sitting in his car.
PROTEST AND RALLY AGAINST POLICE TERROR AND THE CRIMINALIZATION OF THE POOR.
The City of Vallejo Touts itself as being the most diverse cities in America but it is hiding a very dark secret. That secret is : Vallejo city leaders have failed is residents in every way imaginable by allowing the militarization of it’s police force and arming them to the teeth.
City leaders have armed Vallejo Police while failing to drug test or psychologically evaluate any of it’s police officers beyond being hired.
What does this mean? If an officer was hired 20 years ago , that is the first and last drug test and psychological evaluation they will ever have. Regardless of histories of abuse, Officer involved shootings , traffic incidents or complaint of excessive force.
In 2012 Vallejo Police Department had the highest amount of officer involved shooting per capita in the nation but still no drug testing or psychological evaluations and May Osby Davis is okay with this.
In 2012 Mario Romero was Murdered by Vallejo police officer’s Sean Kenney and Dustin Joseph as he sat in front of his Vallejo home. He was fired at 40 times, Shot 30 times including 8 times through the palms of his hands. He was cut from his seatbelt and his body taken from the crime scene, the crime scene was changed by Sean Kenney , Dusting Joseph Corporal Stan Eng Officer Matthew Thompson and Police Supervisor Clark but still no drug test or psychological evaluation.
Vallejo Police Officer Sean Kenney killed 3 unarmed men in 2012 Anton Barrett Mario Romero and Jeramiah Moore and received a promotion to detective instead of a prison cell, He is now in charge of investigating officer involved shootings for the Vallejo police department. Vallejo Police Officer Dustin Joseph has been awarded officer of the year for his terrorism on the community of Vallejo.
The city of Vallejo Has chosen to criminalize those who are apart of a protected class rather then to offer resources or assist.
The city of Vallejo has failed to step up to the plate where seniors of the Florence Douglas Senior center have been robbed of their pool table and source of enjoyment , they city has sent a clear message that they are not interested in elder abuse, theft of property and discrimination of seniors.
The city of Vallejo has failed to honor measures that have been voted upon by it’s residents by making a point to criminalize the use of medical marijuana for the disabled.
There has been a great attempt by so called leaders to insure that they have all hands in the pot by causing confusion. the city of Vallejo has made a point to include police in Medical Marijuana dispensaries while failing to enforce drug testing for its police.
Today we say enough is enough, we are calling for a federal investigation in to the Vallejo Police Department by the US Attorney General, we are demanding criminal charges be filed against Sean Kenney and Dustin Joseph for the murder of Mario Romero. we are calling for immediate enforcement of drug testing for all Vallejo Police officers.
We are demanding an end to the terrorism now!

On the night of Thursday, May 21st, while marching and chanting, and standing up for the lives of all Black women everywhere, Oakland Police Department informed us that there was a new ordinance in place: not only were we told that we are not longer allowed to march at night, but we were not allowed to march in the streets. Who’s streets?! Our streets! They chose the national day of action for the rights of Black women against police violence to enforce aggressive policing of our right to peacefully convene and protest.
They want for us to go into the shadows. They want for us to be silent, to bow down, to forget the lives of so many Black women who have been stolen from us by police. They want us to give up, to ignore the trauma caused by the ways our Black women bodies have been violated, policed, harassed, exploited, demoralized, dehumanized, beaten, abused, raped, and murdered…but they are sadly mistaken. We will not back down; we will fight harder! We will wage war until our lives are valued. #BlackLivesMatter Black women’s lives matter. They always have and they always will. #sayhername #blackspring

Last night, the Oakland Police Department, acting on orders from Mayor Libby Schaaf, used tear gas and flash bang grenades on protestors and then violently arrested a group that was seated, holding candles and singing in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter and #sayhername movements. The mayor has declared street protests illegal after sunset. We will resist this move with nonviolent direct action and militant love, defying the Mayor’s attempts to divide our movements into day and night, tolerated and repressed.

We are strongly opposed to their “vision of Oakland” and seek to abolish the police as well as the state. As an alternative we hope to organize our hoods to build community and push out the police who have always brutalized us.

The ReFund & ReBuild Oakland Community-Labor Coalition representing over 15 labor, community and faith groups has been focused on building a broad based agenda to ensure big banks, large corporations and our elected officials reinvest in working families, communities of color and neighborhoods impacted by inequity, displacement and underrepresentation.
In 2013 ReFund groups came together and, alongside a 1 day strike organized by city unions, helped to push a budget that prioritized public services and an agenda that reinvested in working class families and communities of color across the city.

BYP100 Bay Area Chapter, in solidarity with Just Cause’s #OurBudgetOurCity day of action, Black Lives Matter (Bay Area), ONYX, BlackOUT Collective and Black Seed, will take back the streets that WE pay for, the streets that belong to US!
#OurBudgetOurCity is a day demonstrating the priorities that the City can spend their money and resources on – the needs of Oakland’s residents! Oakland’s public officials prioritize the profit-driven interests of developers, investors, big landlords, and protecting windows more than protecting the interests of Oakland’s working class and low income communities.
It’s clear that those of us whose needs are not being met and who are being displaced, suffering from the impact of gentrification, and living under the threat of state violence are not taking it anymore. The Bay Area has been blazing with people all over standing up to take back the rights that we have. June 10th is a day to celebrate all of that, and to show the Mayor, the City Council that we are united in our fight against gentrification and that we demand that our voices and demands be heard.

San Francisco and Mayor Ed Lee will host the 83rd U.S. Conference of Mayors summer session June 19-22, 2015, the first time since 1997. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, about 200 mayors from across the country are expected to attend, along with 200 to 300 support staff and roughly the same amount of corporate sponsors. Mayors also often bring their spouses and families to the summer meeting. The San Francisco meeting will be held at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square hotel.
This an opportunity for the Mayors to hear from the people!
The Conference of Mayors is coming to SF. Mayor Ed Lee is getting excited to play the proud host while ordinary San Franciscans struggle with a housing crisis and an epidemic of racist policing.
The mayors of this country, many of them Democrats, who posture like progressives, are administering austerity and managing a police form that kills every day.
Come to the rally and march to protest the Mayor’s Conference.

The mayors plan to party hearty while cops continue to kill Black and transgender men, women, and youth across the country. They will be boarding buses to attend a “Color of Life Global Celebration” at the California Academy of Sciences. Join with APTP to dampen their party.
Across the country mayors have allowed their police departments to become heavily militarized, with weapons and equipment provided by the U.S. military. They’ve invited repressive regimes like Israel to provide their departments with training. Israeli troops act as an occupying army to the Palestinian people, much like many police forces in the U.S. act with regard to Black communities and other communities of color.
We demand that the assault rifles, tanks, drones, and other military style offensive weapons be removed from our cities’ police departments. Instead we demand complete control over the police by the communities which they are supposed to serve.
