Extinction Rebellion: Reject Fast Fashion @ Westfield Mall
Nov 29 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Join XR Youth SF Bay for a fast fashion protest. On Black Friday, we must remember that 12.8 million tons of clothing are sent to landfills in the US every year. The fashion industry’s CO2 emissions are projected to increase by more than 60% to nearly 2.8 billion tons per year by 2030.

We’ll sit-in outside the mall before slowly processing inside to hold a die-in.
Who: You! Us! Anyone who is concerned about the environment and their carbon footprint.

What to bring: protest signs (if you don’t have them, we have some extra), comfortable clothing. Another option is to wear an outlandish outfit to make fun of fast fashion!

Bay Area Women in Black March and Vigil @ Powell St. BART
Nov 29 @ 11:45 am – 1:00 pm

Bay Area Women in Black’s annual Black Friday March and Vigil calls for a boycott of products whose sale supports the cruel and illegal occupation of Palestine. Fliers and signs offer the rationale for the boycott and urge the end of U.S. military aid to the State of Israel. This is a non-violent event.

On the biggest shopping day of the year in the U.S., Bay Area Women in Black will once again show how profits from the sale of certain items and participation by businesses and cultural groups in events sponsored by the State of Israel are used to impose illegal and cruel occupation and colonialism on the people of Palestine.

Please join our non-violent march and vigil from the Powell Street BART Station to Union Square. Fliers and signs will show how specific businesses promote illegal occupation and daily living conditions called “worse than apartheid” by Bishop Desmond Tutu, conditions supported by U.S. tax dollars. Prepare to participate in the singing of BDS-themed “anti-carols”. Drums and banners welcome.

Please dress in black and gather on Friday, Nov. 29, at the Powell Street BART station at 11:45 for a 12:00 PM march to Union Square, returning to BART by 1 PM. The San Francisco Police Department will escort us.

The Main Stream Media (MSM) is so full of lies, it’s got the masses confused!!
There are only a few places we can get the truth.Chelsea and Julian were two of
the most important WHISTLE BLOWERS to tell the truth about USA’s illegal,
immoral WARS. USA is one of the largest TERRORIST countries in history,
killing, wounding, and forcing emigration on millions of folks (did you know there
are 65 million migrants?) all over the world!!

Saving Chelsea and Julian is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! To the
Working class and it’s Allies. They told us the truth about the wars! And all the
NEW McArthyism (phony Russia Gate conspiracy led by the New York Times) is
blaming Julian for being a puppet of Russia. So much of all our issues stem
from the honesty of Chelsea and Julian!! That’s why the RULING CLASS
imprisoned them and want’s them DEAD.

Dec 1 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly meets every Sunday at 3 PM at Oscar Grant Plaza amphitheater at 14th Street & Broadway near the steps of City Hall.  If for some reason the amphitheater is being used otherwise and/or OGP itself is inaccessible, we will meet at Kaiser Park, right next to the statues, on 19th St. between San Pablo and Telegraph.  If it is raining (as in RAINING, not just misting) at 3:00 PM we meet in the basement of the Omni Collective, 4799 Shattuck Ave., Oakland.  (Note: we meet at 3:00 PM during the cooler months,  once Daylight Savings Time springs forward we tend to assemble at 4 PM).

On every ‘last Sunday’ we meet a little earlier at 2 PM to have a community potluck to which all are welcome.

ooGAOO General Assembly has met on a continuous basis for over five years! Our General Assembly is a participatory gathering of Oakland community members and beyond, where everyone who shows up is treated equally. Our Assembly and the process we have collectively cultivated strives to reach agreement while building community.

At the GA committees, caucuses, and loosely associated groups whose representatives come voluntarily report on past and future actions, with discussion. We encourage everyone participating in the Occupy Oakland GA to be part of at least one associated group, but it is by no means a requirement. If you like, just come and hear all the organizing being done! Occupy Oakland encourages political activity that is decentralized and welcomes diverse voices and actions into the movement.

Oscar Grant Committee Meeting @ Zoom Meeting
Dec 2 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Because of the COVID pandemic we will be meeting virtually via Zoom on the first Monday of the month.

Meeting ID: 828 0976 4186

If you wish to get the password please subscribe to the Oscar Grant Committee mailing list by sending an email to:

The Oscar Grant Committee Against Police Brutality & State Repression (OGC) is a grassroots democratic organization that was formed as a conscious united front for justice against police brutality. The OGC is involved in the struggle for police accountability and is committed to stopping police brutality.

In alliance with the International Longshore & Warehouse Union (ILWU) we organized the October 23, 2010 labor and community rally for Justice for Oscar Grant. On that day the ILWU shut down the Bay Area ports in solidarity. Our mission is to educate, organize and mobilize people against police and state repression. Sisters and brothers! The Oscar Grant Committee invites you to join us in this vital struggle.

We meet on the 1st Monday of each month

National Climate Strike in Oakland @ Oscar Grant Plaza
Dec 6 @ 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Join Oakland youth for a community Resilient Village to raise awareness on climate resilience and our upcoming climate chaos with hands-on workshops on herbal making, civic engagement, art, water catchment, and more. We will also provide tools for youth and allies to learn about divestment from fossil fuels and investment in the Green New Deal and provide ways to get involved.

This action is youth led and co-hosted by YVA, Mycelium Youth Network, Planting Justice and others.

We hope this will lead into a city wide disaster resilience planning meeting with city officials on Saturday 12/7.

Part of the National Climate Strikes on December 6th:

The September 20th Climate Strike was the largest day of action for climate justice ever. On December 6th, as world leaders gather at the UN’s annual climate conference, young people across America will join a national #ClimateStrike to take the momentum from September to our elected officials’ doorsteps.

In September, many politicians shared nice words of encouragement. But, we didn’t walk out of school and work to earn their praise. We joined the #ClimateStrike because our lives depend on elected leaders treating this crisis like the emergency it is.

On December 6th, we’ll show up at the offices of our political leaders and ask them, are you ready to stand with our generation and fight for a Green New Deal?

East Bay DSA General Meeting @ Omni Commons
Dec 8 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

East Bay DSA’s bimonthly general meetings (GMs) include deliberation and voting on member-submitted resolutions, member announcements, reports from our committees, and more.

Volunteering at the GM is lively, easy, and low-commitment, and hugely benefits the meetings and thus our internal democracy. If you intend to come and would like to volunteer, let us know here. Use this form, too, if you have child supervision or accessibility needs, including the need for an ASL interpreter.

With our new regular schedule, member-submitted resolutions will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please email them to resolutions@eastbaydsa.org. The submissions deadline for each meeting is three weeks before the meeting.

General meetings are run by the Meetings Committee. For questions or comments, or if you are interested in joining the committee, write us at meetings@eastbaydsa.org!

Oakland Tenants Union monthly meeting @ Madison Park Apartments, community room
Dec 9 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

OTU’s Mission

The Oakland Tenants Union is an organization of housing activists dedicated to protecting tenant rights and interests. OTU does this by working directly with tenants in their struggle with landlords, impacting legislation and public policy about housing, community education, and working with other organizations committed to furthering renters’ rights. The Oakland Tenants Union is open to anyone who shares our core values and who believes that tenants themselves have the primary responsibility to work on their own behalf.

Monthly Meetings

The Oakland Tenants Union meets regularly at 7:00 pm on the second Monday evening of each month. Our monthly meetings are held in the Community Room of the Madison Park Apartments, 100 – 9th Street (at Oak Street, across from the Lake Merritt BART Station). To enter, gently knock on the window of the room to the right of the main entrance to the building. At the meetings, first we focus on general issues affecting renters city-wide and then second we offer advice to renters regarding their individual concerns.

If you have an issue, a question, or need advice about a tenant/landlord issue, please call us at (510) 704-5276. Leave a message with your name and phone number and someone will get back to you.

Trump/Pence Out Now!
Dec 14 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

“There is no Santa Claus, and he will not remove Trump and Pence. It’s on us. Trump/Pence #OUTNOW!”

This is a month of flash protests, banner drops, rapidly responding to sharp political events, and other actions, including “moving protests” – on public transit or by car caravan – to disturb the air and get the word out on a massive scale.

The centerpiece of the month will be mass protests on December 14, injecting the demand “Trump/Pence #OUTNOW!” into the holidays to shake off the numbing mass-consumerism daze.

If we truly want to bring joy to children everywhere in this season, we must put an end to the regime that locks them in cages and imperils their future.
