Stop Billionaires Summer: Protest Wells Fargo @ Wells Fargo Global Headquarters
Jul 23 @ 8:30 am – 12:00 pm

“No bank has bent to the knee to Trump as dramatically as Wells Fargo,

  • the only bank to have dropped its climate commitments,
  • funds Palantir, a company that works with ICE to target and deport immigrants,
  • funds Elbit Systems, a provider of weapons and technologies to the Israeli military, which is committing genocide in Palestine,
  • engaging in full-throated union busting,
  • planning to privatize the post office and sell it off for parts.”

RSVP here

THIS ACTION IS PART OF  “STOP BILLIONAIRES SUMMER, an eight-week campaign focused on mass action, civil disobedience, and movement-building targeting the billionaire and corporate elites fueling the crises we’re living through.”

“From Elon Musk’s techno-fascist empire to fossil fuel financiers and real estate tycoons, we’re coming for the billionaires who are attacking our communities and stealing our future. And we’re organizing to win.”

From mid-July to September, actions will especially target the tech oligarchy and other billionaire backers of fossil fuel and Trump’s programs.

Organizers describe how previous actions have demonstrated the power of prolonged, disruptive protest. In last summer’s Summer of Heat on Wall Street, more than 5,000 people converged on New York to disrupt the financial backers of fossil fuels, with a special focus on blockading Citibank, a key investor.

The following December, Citi announced a major improvement in its climate policies,  promising to step down fossil fuel investments more quickly than any other bank’s plans.

You can sign up on this Stop Billionaires Summer Interest Form https://actionnetwork.org/forms/stop-billionaires-summer to stay informed about what’s happening and how you can participate.

Join Stop Billionaires Summer and fight back against the rising threats to democracy, our climate, and our communities.

Jul 25 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Between Acton and Bonar, beside “The Way”, in front of the bike path.

(Please leave the left lane of bike path clear.)

We’re holding these on the 2nd and 4th Fridays, from 5 to 6 pm, for just an hour. This is our 4th “Sing for Justice and Peace.” The first 3 were great fun, and meaningful with many drivers honking support, giving thumbs up etc. If you don’t like to sing, beat a drum or just hold a protest sign and/or bring a poem about peace for the open mic.

The leafy location marks an entrance to a shady bike path, and there’s oodles of car traffic passing by.

Everyone Is welcome to join this fun-loving, rebellious, and collaborative event. There’s a sound system, and extra noisemakers if getting loud helps heal your spirit in these war-torn and troubled times. Join this Friday’s FUN protest, open mic, and sing-along for Justice & Peace!

Community Picket at Wells Fargo Global HQ @ Wells Fargo Global Headquarters
Jul 30 @ 8:30 am – 10:30 am

Last Wednesday, we took action Wells’ global
headquarters with a building blockade and street mural that put the bank
on notice about their dirty investments and WE SHUT THEM DOWN.
Join us Wednesday, July 30th, we’ll be back at the headquarters with a
rolling rowdy picket line to keep the momentum going. We want to make a
lot of noise, so bring your noisemakers, pots and pans and whatever else
you got.

Wells Fargo funds Palantir – a tech company that’s supercharging Trump’s
surveillance state. Palantir provides surveillance and tech
infrastructure to enable the ICE raids terrorizing communities across
the nation right now. Palantir has also been contracted to build a
database of
personal information about Americans.

Furthermore, Wells Fargo funds weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems who’s
been fueling the genocide in Palestine with a constant flow of arms and
it funds some of the worst fossil fuels companies. The bank has also
recently rolled back its climate commitments (the only major U.S. bank
to do so) and are engaged in trying to stop an ongoing unionization
effort at their branches.

Never Again! 80th Anniversary Commemoration of US Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki @ Lawrence Livermore Lab - West Gate
Aug 6 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Information: https://trivalleycares.org/2025/never-again-mark-the-solemn-80th-anniversary-of-hiroshima-and-nagasaki-with-us-at-livermore-lab

We invite you to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with Tri-Valley CAREs and other peace and justice groups that are part of the Livermore Conversion Project.

We will gather at 9 AM on Wednesday, August 6 at the Livermore Lab West Gate, located in Livermore on Vasco Road (turn on side streets to park).

The theme this year is “80 Years of Nuclear Devastation: Remember Our History; Reshape Our Future!” We will join the cry of the Hibakusha, “Never Again,” and honor their lifelong commitment to the total elimination of nuclear weapons. And, we will do so at the West Gate of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where new nuclear weapons are being developed today for potential use tomorrow.

Our program will include speakers, music, and a symbolic “die in” followed by a traditional Japanese Bon Dance, which invites the ancestors to join us. Following the program, some of the participants may choose to approach the gate for a solemn nonviolent direct action, while others may choose to use their voices in song and support while remaining in the public space.

You are invited to bring your full being and your voice to support nuclear disarmament on this important occasion. Please see the flyer below for more information, and don’t forget to mark your calendar now!

Please bring your favorite nuclear disarmament banner. And, we will have extra “Nuclear Weapons are Illegal” and other banners to share with you if you would like. Also bring water, sunscreen and, possibly, a hat along with your aspiratioons for a more peaceful and just world.

Speakers include Arjun Makajani, PhD. (Director of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research in Washington, DC), Helen Jacard (Veterans for Peace and the Golden Rule peace ship), Reverend Michael Yoshii (United Methodist Church and thinker on Japanese internment), Reverend Monica Cross (CA Poor Peoples Campaign), Patricia Ellsberg (peace activist and wife of the late Daniel Ellsberg), and Marylia Kelley (Senior Advisor of Livermore-based Tri-Valley CAREs).
