The community outreach collective is trying to plan a fruitvale community assembly. Please contact us or come to our meetings at SF Pizza every Thursday at 6:30pm if you want to get involved with this project or with any outreach projects. We are having a hard time finding an appropriate location. Please contact us if you know of anyplace in the fruitvale area that is accessible by P.T. and a relatively neutral space. Thank you all for all of the hard work you are doing for OO.

the corner of 35th and international is a little plaza where the preachers hang out and is used to public speech etc. (not as boxed in as fruitvale plaza in the mall). the public library branch is fairly cool too for indoor activities. are you looking for indoors or outdoors?
St. elizabeth’s church has a lot of progressive franciscan types who might also let some indor or outdoor space be used.

This website was created in the fall of 2011. Most of it is now moribund, but the Occupy Oakland Calendar, which lists activist events in the East Bay (and occasionally elsewhere) is still maintained, the Search facility works to find earlier posts and keep OO’s history alive, and articles are occasionally still posted to the front page.

The Occupy Oakland General Assembly met in-person weekly (with a rare skip) since October 10th, 2011 up until the pandemic, at which point we went to bi-weekly Zoom meetings. We do checkins, go over the activist events of the past meeting interval, and have general discussions on politics and revolution.

For many years, until the pandemic, we put on a Feed the People event monthly at Oscar Grant Plaza, where all were welcome to come and partake of a freshly cooked, savory meal, before our GA.
