It is time for an old lady to scold you all. You really thought it would be productive to try to take over a shuttered public building for your own use? The Kaiser Auditorium was closed down because Oakland doesn’t have the money to keep it open. Don’t you all get it? Oakland is in deep financial trouble and when you add to that burden, it hurts everyone. If you want to gather your resources and come up with the money to pay for its operation so you can put it to use, then make that proposal through normal, legal channels. But to think that you can “take” a community building owned by all of us is naive and destructive to your efforts. These types of actions are not ones law abiding 98%ers appreciate (this isn’t what OO, the bottom 1%, needs to do to gain support from everyone else.)
