Song Nite Occupies Occupy Oakland

Categories: Announcements

Song Nite, an 8.5-year-old hootenanny ritual centered in Oakland, will be hosting a ‘song circle’ (read: hootenanny) in Oscar Grant Plaza this coming Saturday late afternoon (5pm) at the rotunda.  We are a group of over 150 friends and family members that have met about once a month to share food, drink, company, and the dulcet tones of  our communal howl (OK, singing).

We’re all tremendously excited about Occupy Oakland, and many of us have already taken part, whether as individuals or parts of other groups.  But we want to bring Song Nite to Occupy Oakland to share our love – love of each other, our song, and the particular & unique touch of grace that comes with creating a joyful (and even harmonious) noise.

We have song books, but are not limited to them.  Our complete oeuvre is only limited by our – and your –  willingness to sing and be heard.

Join us – make a joyful noise – touch the grace inside you and all of us.

In Harmony,

Doug Norman

PS:  By the way, how do I get this posted on the official events calendar?
