B of A ATM needed to receive CA state disability payments!

Categories: Announcements, Open Mic, Reflections

You also now have to use a B of A ATM card to access any of your money for CA state disability which only lasts one year. They used to just send checks you could deposit anywhere. My state disability ran out in April and now I can only get funds out of my parents’ (retired teachers) saving that they absolutely will and currently do depend on as I am currently too disabled to work, but I have so many medical, health insurance, and physical therapy bills that at 35 I have to financially depend on them 100%. I feel guilty and worried about my whole situation and how it deeply affects my parents as I moved home in January and can often not leave my bed so they now stress and worry about me daily.

The BofA thing makes me SO ANGRY.

It also makes me really angry that those of us with disabilities are cast to the side as less valuable citizens… the decision to go to BofA was not done in the best interests of the people receiving these benefits.

AND BofA makes a(nother) fortune off forced customers. 🙁

I am so sorry-in this country disability and poverty often go hand in hand. I suggest you try to find a community of people with disabilities for support. It saved my soul (I to am a person with a disability) And that BofA debit card thing is so fucked!!
