The State Bank is a great start\, but it’s one pillar of the new structure
. In the East Bay\, we’re moving forward with innovative funding sources a
nd we hope to have a MAJOR announcement soon. While talking heads dither\,
we\, the people\, must create a new institution to address the systemic p
roblems the pandemic has starkly revealed.\n2019 saw the historic passage
of state Assembly Bill 857\, the Public Banking Act – tthanks to activists
all over our state. Together we established the pathway for public banks
to be created in California!\n82
