Wear bee garb, dress like bees, bring your smokers and stingers…. We are demanding the immediate ban of Clothianidin, the pesticide responsible for massive bee die-offs worldwide, which is produced by Bayer. This pesticide has precipitated Colony Collapse Disorder, threatening the livelihood of both large and small farmers as well as beekeepers—indeed the ecological balance of the planet. Many vegetables and fruits and other crops depend upon bees for pollination. … Continued

In this spirit we invite all workers – paid and unpaid, employed and unemployed, union and non-union, full-time and precarious – to join a Workers’ Assembly. We aim to encourage communication and solidarity between different sectors of the working class. We want to encourage common struggle against the 1% and their agents who exploit and oppress us, for a society based on justice and equality, where the needs and desires … Continued

Albany, CA. May 10, 2012 at approximately noon, the UCPD closed off the last remaining pedestrian access to the Gill Tract by chaining and locking the gate at San Pablo and Marin Avenues. For the past 24 hours, that gate had remained open, and despite a heavy police presence people had been able to enter and exit freely through it. This represents the latest in a series of measures taken by the UC Administration to force the Farmers off of this piece of public farmland. To date, the UCPD has … Continued
