Empty buildings drain resources

Categories: Open Mic

Nonviolent Action and Nonviolent Force can overthrow governments when used with disipline and organization.  Gene Sharp gives you the tools. Read his works. Please read.

Although empty buildings are a stupid waste of resources, trying to take them over using force won’t achieve the goal of using the building. Empty buildings  should be an action item to expose such waste and their greedy owners using the police to protect these ( abandoned ) empty structures which serve no useful function, but only drain money from the city.

Uh, I think that’s what we did. We showed OPD values empty property more than human life and safety.
As far as ” trying to take them over using force won’t achieve the goal of using the building”, I guess it’s not surprising if more people don’t know about this, but you should research the Center for Creative Non-Violence and Mitch Snyder. They did just that in the 80s — occupied empty government buildings and turned them into homeless shelters that are still serving the people today.
